Months would go by without any symptoms and then Boom! Without any warning, I would be triggered by a warm breeze, the sound of rustling leaves, the smell of smoke in the air. Even a hazy sky could send me down a deep, dark rabbit hole of depression, lethargy and malaise as well as paralysis. Unable to move or function at a level that society deems to be normal, I found myself sinking into deeper periods of darkness, isolation, fear and grief. I have never been one that would get depressed, yet I became increasingly concerned with my inability to function in life.
